Online marketplace Alesha Mart halts all official activities

Alesha Mart, an e-commerce platform, has shut down due to "security issues."

The online marketplace said in a Facebook post early Thursday that its operations would be suspended until further notice.

"We are being forced to take the move as a group of people assaulted some of our staff members. They were not our customers, nor were any payment scheduled for them. We will resume our activities only after adequate security is ensured," it reads.

A subsidiary of Alesha Holdings Ltd, Alesah Mart was launched on January 1 this year amid a boom of online marketplaces in the country offering deep discounts and lucrative offers.
