Rape case against Shakil, the head of Ekattar TV

Private channel Ekattar Television's news chief Shakil Ahmed has been charged with rape. A woman filed the case with Gulshan Police Station on Thursday night (November 4).

Deputy Commissioner of Gulshan Division Mohammad Asaduzzaman confirmed the matter. He said that in the case, Shakil Ahmed was accused of rape and feticide.

Citing the case, Gulshan police said Shakil Ahmed had an affair with a female doctor. He promised to marry the woman. At one stage of the relationship, the woman became pregnant and Shakil aborted the woman. After that Shakil did not agree to marry her anymore.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Asaduzzaman said Shakil Ahmed could not be arrested. The woman accused of rape will be medically examined.

An attempt was made to contact Shakil Ahmed on his mobile phone to know his statement in this regard, but he did not pick up the phone.
