Fire service took control of remnant warehouse fire in Chittagong

After four hours of hard work by six units of the fire service, the fire at the remnant warehouse in Atura depot area of Chittagong was finally brought under control. Earlier, a fire broke out in the warehouse at around 5:20 am.

On Thursday (December 9) morning, Deputy Director of Fire Service Chittagong Md. Anisur Rahman confirmed the matter.

He said that the fire was brought under control around 9.15 am after a four-hour effort by six fire service units. There were ten remnant warehouses side by side. Four of these were on fire. The building authorities had no arrangements to put out the fire. We had to bring water from far away to control the fire.

He also confirmed that the fire is under control now. However, it will take some time to complete the dumping.

However, he could not say how the fire started and the amount of damage. Md. Anisur Rahman also said that the cause of the fire and the amount of damage will be informed after investigation.
