Murad Hassan, the ruling Awami League MP for Jamalpur-4, has been making preparations to depart the nation after losing his cabinet membership for despicable and exceedingly offensive statements directed at women. He has booked a flight to Canada for Thursday night. According to airline sources, the former state minister for information and media affairs purchased the ticket on Wednesday.

According to a source in Murad Hassan's office, the former state minister presented his red passport on the day of his resignation on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, legal action is being taken against the disgraced former state minister, who was caught on camera making exceedingly lewd statements about Zaima Rahman, the granddaughter of Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairman Khaleda Zia, in a viral video. The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) discovered 387 links to his aggressive and filthy speeches on various internet platforms, including social media.

Writ filed with High Court

A writ has been filed with the High Court seeking the apex court’s directives to investigate the recent activities of Murad Hassan, who is still an MP of the ruling party from Jamalpur-4 constituency, for judicial purposes. The writ also sought directives as to why an order will not be given to take necessary steps to announce his constituency vacant. The writ further sought a ruling as to why his recent activities and telephonic conversations would not be announced unconstitutional. It also pleaded for directives for judicial inquiry against Murad Hassan if any ruling is passed.

Supreme Court lawyer Yunus Ali Akand filed the writ on Wednesday. He said that the hearing could be held in the next week.
