Police have arrested Salahuddin, owner of the Dhanmondi office building of e-commerce company Evaly.

He was arrested in a raid on Dhanmondi Road No. 11 on Wednesday (December 8) evening.

According to a report in the national daily Prothom Alo, police arrested Salauddin in connection with a case filed at Dhanmondi Police Station against him for stealing goods and furniture from Evaly's Dhanmondi office.

The report quoted Dhanmondi Police Station Inspector (Operations) Rabiul Islam as saying that a case was filed against Salauddin, the owner of the house, for stealing goods and furniture from the office after the arrest of Evaly's managing director Mohammad Russell and his wife Shamima Nasreen.

On October 12, the High Court constituted a board headed by a former judge to review the allegations of fraud against Evaly and the rules of conduct. Additional Secretary Mahbub Kabir, a member of the board, filed a case against Salahuddin, the owner of the house, at Dhanmondi Police Station for stealing Evali's goods and furniture. He is the only accused in the case.
