According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the temperature across the country on December 20 and 21 was much lower than the average for the same period of the last 30 years. During the last two days, the average temperature in different parts of the country was 9-15 degrees Celsius at night and 22-24 degrees Celsius during the day.

According to meteorologists, the temperature is 1-5 degrees lower than the national average for the last 30 years. That is why even though mild to moderate cold wave is prevailing in 10 districts of the country at the moment, lower than normal temperature is being felt all over the country.

Meteorologist MD Abul Kalam Mallick said that the feeling of winter is more this year. Temperatures across the country, especially in the northern and north-western districts, may remain below normal for the next few days.

The Meteorological Department says that according to the general temperature calculation of Bangladesh if the minimum temperature in a large area is between 8 to 10 degrees, it is called a mild cold wave. If the temperature is between 6 and 8 degrees then it is called moderate cold flow. But if the temperature drops below 6 degrees Celsius then it is considered severe cold.
